Sarah Mills (MBA, LLB, BEd) is a Consultant Manager based in our St. John’s Office. She has significant experience in the area of human rights and equity, and over three years experience conducting evaluations.
Project work with GGI has included:
conducting workplace investigations; developing a policy and procedure manual for a human rights organization; developing an online university-credit course on human rights; developing and delivering employment-skills training for youth with disabilities; and designing and conducting gender-based analyses and employment equity systems reviews.
Adept at managing research projects and conducting document, literature and jurisdictional reviews, Sarah has also carried out numerous key-informant interviews, focus groups and case studies. In addition, she serves as Protected Disclosure Coordinator for the receipt of complaints of wrongdoing by members of Memorial University.
Prior to joining GGI, Sarah led UNICEF’s human rights training and law reform projects in the South Pacific and SouthEast Asia for a period of five years. Upon her return to Canada, further human rights projects included revamping and delivering sexual harassment training, as well as conducting a review of human rights and equity offices across North American universities.
Sarah is currently active with Human Resources Professionals of Newfoundland & Labrador (HRPNL). She holds memberships in the Canadian Association for the Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment in Higher Education (CAPDHHE), the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES), the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC), and the Newfoundland & Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE). Sarah's security clearance is at the Secret level.
